Ghana's Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson, has announced that Ghana is now ranked as the eighth-largest economy in Africa, with the country's GDP per capita reaching $3,385 for the first time.
Speaking during a diaspora town hall meeting in the United Kingdom, the minister said Ghana's economy is showing strong signs of recovery and stability. He added that the country's debt is now on a sustainable path and assured Ghanaians abroad that recent economic gains would be maintained.
βOur country is back. Today, Ghana is ranked the eighth-largest economy in Africa. Our GDP per capita is now $3,385 for the first time and our debt is now sustainable. The gains made will be sustained,β he stated.
The remarks come as the government continues efforts to strengthen economic growth, attract investment, and restore confidence in the country's financial outlook.
