Welcome to Nkomode.com (“the Platform”), a citizen‑powered news and community platform based in Ghana. By accessing or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before creating an account or submitting any content.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Nkomode.com, you confirm that you accept these terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Platform. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained the consent of a parent or guardian. By registering, you represent that you are not barred from receiving services under Ghanaian law.

When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate and complete information, including your mobile money number for payments. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account. Nkomode reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Content Submission & Ownership

You retain ownership of any original content (text, images, videos) you post on Nkomode. By submitting content, you grant Nkomode a worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free licence to use, reproduce, distribute, and display the content on the Platform and in promotional materials. You warrant that your content does not infringe any third‑party rights and is not false, misleading, or defamatory.

5. Revenue Sharing & Payments

Nkomode operates a performance‑based revenue sharing model. Contributors earn based on the number of views and upvotes their published stories receive. The current rates are displayed on your dashboard and may be updated from time to time.

Payments are made weekly (or as announced) exclusively via Mobile Money (MoMo) to the number you provide. You are responsible for ensuring your MoMo details are correct. Nkomode is not liable for payments sent to wrong numbers due to outdated or incorrect information. All earnings are displayed in Ghana Cedis (GHS). Nkomode reserves the right to withhold payments if it detects fraudulent activity (e.g., artificial views, vote manipulation).

The Nkomode name, logo, and design are proprietary. You may not use them without prior written permission. All other trademarks and copyrighted material appearing on the Platform are the property of their respective owners.

The Platform may display advertisements and links to third‑party websites. Nkomode does not endorse and is not responsible for the content, products, or services offered by advertisers. Any dealings with advertisers are solely between you and the advertiser.

Nkomode is provided “as is” without any warranties, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any user‑submitted content. You use the Platform at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Ghanaian law, Nkomode and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including loss of income, data, or reputation.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Nkomode, its owners, and affiliates from any claims, losses, or damages (including legal fees) resulting from your violation of these terms or your submitted content.

12. Modifications to Terms

We may revise these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting. Your continued use of the Platform after revisions constitutes acceptance of the new terms. It is your responsibility to review this page periodically.

13. Termination

Nkomode may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform at any time, without prior notice, if we believe you have violated these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Any outstanding earnings (if legitimately acquired) may be paid out at our discretion.

14. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Ghanaian courts.
