It was a weekend of redemption and resurgence for Accra Majestics as they made a bold statement in the GRCC Regional 7s tournament at the St. Thomas Aquinas School pitch. After a rocky start to the day, the Majestics roared back to claim two dominant victories and finish with their heads held high in Week 2 of Greater Accra’s premier rugby sevens showcase.
The day began on a sour note as the Majestics were handed a tough 0-24 loss by a well-drilled Accra Rugby Club side. It was a wake-up call—but one that sparked an immediate response.
With their pride on the line, the Majestics regrouped and returned to the field with renewed intensity, delivering a commanding 24-0 win over IDAS Sports Club. Their structure, communication, and physicality all came together in a performance that reminded everyone of their pedigree.
And they weren’t done yet.
In their final match of the day, the Majestics faced a determined African Warriors side. The game was a gritty contest, but the Majestics maintained control throughout and came away with a 14-0 victory, completing the day with two clean sheets—a testament to their vastly improved defensive organisation.
A New Era Begins
Crucially, this round of matches also marked the debut of four exciting new talents for Accra Majestics:
