World Bank says Syria arrears cleared, making country eligible for new loans

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The World Bank connected Friday said it had cleared Syria's $15.5 cardinal successful outstanding indebtedness aft receiving payments from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, making the state eligible to use for millions of dollars successful grants for reconstruction and fund support.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar announced successful April that they would screen Syria's arrears with the multilateral improvement bank, which volition marque it eligible for caller assistance programs, taxable to the bank's operational policies.

As of May 12, Syria has nary outstanding balances with the International Development Association, the bank's money for the poorest countries, the World Bank said.
