The Conjuring: First Communion has found two actors to fill the shoes of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. Garrett Wareing will star as Ed Warren, while Amanda Fix will play Lorraine Warren.

New Line has set a date of Sept. 10, 2027 for the movie.

The Conjuring prequel is set years before the 2013’s Conjuring, which took place in 1971. James Wan helmed the original film, and Wilson and Farmiga retired from the roles as paranormal investigators with last year’s Conjuring: Last Rites, which grossed nearly $500 million globally. New Line was keen to keep the franchise going, as it stands as highest grossing horror series ever with $2.7 billion.

Wareing stars on the Netflix show Ransom Canyon, and appeared in Lionsgate’s Stephen King movie The Long Walk. He broke in a decade ago with Independence Day: Resurgence and also appeared on the Netflix drama Manifest.

Wareing is repped by 23 Management Group, WME, and Myman Greenspan Fineman Fox Rosenberg & Light. Fix is repped by Link Entertainment and Black Bear Pictures.
