on the 29th of June, several parts of Accra experienced heavy flooding which is often attributed to the poor drainage system in Accra. The president said last month that the ghanaian populace was to blame for the flood and that they had contributed through their sheer indiscipline in both building in water ways and throwing refuse into gutters.
A lot of people lost their lives yesterday including one delivery guy who didnt want to let go of his motorbike and sadly perished with it. The ministry of interior sent out a message to all ghanaians urging them to remain indoors and avoid passing through the heavy rains.
These floods have become a recurring issue every June July and government has done very little to curb this problem. Just few weeks ago the Accra Regional Minister Mrs Linda Ocloo won the best regional minister award yet the region has a poor draining system and this is telling of how badly we're being governed.
