GES Interdicts Bole SHS Teacher Over Student Sexual Misconduct Allegations

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has suspended a teacher from Bole Senior High School (SHS) in the Savannah Region following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a student.
The suspension comes after a video surfaced on social media reportedly showing a teacher and a student from the school engaged in a sexual act.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, by Mr. Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES, the Service confirmed that an investigation has been launched and that the teacher has been interdicted in line with its regulations while the probe continues.
"The management of GES is aware of a video currently circulating on social media that appears to depict inappropriate sexual conduct between a teacher and a student of Bole Senior High School," the statement read.
It further noted that the teacher has been relieved of all official duties pending the outcome of the investigation.
The viral video is believed to show a teacher and a student in a sexual situation. Alongside the footage, unverified accounts suggest that the teacher is a science instructor responsible for teaching Chemistry and Physics, that the alleged incident took place in one of the school’s science laboratories, and that the student involved is a final-year candidate with only two WASSCE papers left to complete her studies.
GES has clarified that it has not yet corroborated these claims.
The Service strongly condemned any form of inappropriate teacher-student relationships and reaffirmed its unwavering zero-tolerance policy regarding sexual misconduct.
It also reminded all staff members of their duty to consistently uphold professional conduct and ethical standards.
The statement added that once the investigation is concluded, any individual found responsible will face appropriate disciplinary measures and possible legal action.
