Presidential Staffer Nana Yaa Jantuah has called for a thorough investigation into the recurring flooding incidents that often occur around June 3, questioning why severe floods appear to happen around the same period each year.
Speaking on Asempa FM, she urged authorities to examine the issue from physical, policy, social, and spiritual perspectives to uncover the root causes. She cited factors such as choked drains, poor waste disposal, and construction on waterways and flood-prone areas as major contributors to flooding.
Nana Yaa Jantuah stressed that flooding is a systemic problem requiring deeper analysis, stricter enforcement of sanitation and urban planning laws, and a review of housing and drainage policies. She also called on citizens to adopt more responsible environmental practices, emphasizing that lasting solutions will require both policy reforms and changes in public behavior.
