When I Die Keep My Wife And Family Away From My Funeral- Bishop Obinim’s Demand

📍 Accra by Raymond Jun 05, 2026

According to a report by Ghanaweb on Friday, Jun 5, 2026, Founder of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has thrown Ghanaians into shock after publicly declaring who should and should not handle his funeral when he dies.

In a video recorded on June 4, 2026, and widely shared on social media, the controversial man of God told his congregation that only his biological children and members of his church — whom he calls the Abroso Family — should be in charge of his burial arrangements.

Shockingly, he made clear that his wife, Florence Obinim, is excluded from the planning. He also banned his extended family from taking control of the funeral.

“Let this June 4, 2026, video be on record. When I die, only my biological children and the Abroso Family should bury me. I have excluded my family, including my wife, Florence Obinim. Do you know how marriage is? Never place your expectations on marriage,” he declared.

While Obinim said family members could attend the funeral, he drew a firm line — they must not interfere with any arrangements or decisions.

“No member of the Obinim family should come close to my funeral. Don’t come and fight over dates. You may attend, but don’t come and do what you like. The only people who can fix my funeral dates and make arrangements are my biological family and the Abroso Family,” he stressed.

He went further, saying that if he dies before Florence, she should play no role in the funeral planning at all.

The declaration has sparked wide conversation online, with many wondering what could have led the bishop to make such strong statements against his own wife and family in public.

This is not the first time Obinim has made headlines for controversy. The flamboyant preacher has long been one of Ghana’s most talked-about religious figures, never shy to make bold, unexpected announcements.

As the video continues to circulate, Ghanaians are left asking one question — what exactly is going on in the Obinim household?
