"There Are Two Words in South Africa, When You Hear Them, Run for Your Life" – Returnee Fiifi Shares His Harrowing Experience.

One of the 300 Ghanaians evacuated from South Africa, Fiifi, has opened up about the terrifying attacks he endured before fleeing the country.

In an emotional account, Fiifi revealed that he was attacked three times, despite having reached out to the Ghanaian High Commission for help.

"First day I was attacked, I sent an email to the High Commission. My first attack was in Johannesburg when I was going for food. My second was at Jabulani Mall in Soweto," he said.

He described how he was attacked while jogging. When it started to drizzle, he sought shelter under a shed, but some locals engaged him in conversation, then kicked him out into the rain.

Fiifi warned that every migrant in South Africa should know two dangerous words.

"There are two words in South Africa. When you hear them, you have to run away.

The first one I wouldn't want to mention again, and the second is 'Abahambe', which means 'go back to your country,'" he said.

He emphasized that for his attackers, it doesn't matter whether a foreigner is legal or illegal. "For them, it's not a matter of whether you are legal or illegal," he added.

Fiifi's story adds to the growing number of testimonies from Ghanaians who have faced violence and hostility in South Africa, prompting the government to evacuate hundreds of its citizens….
