Ghanaian food creator Abena Amoakoa Sintim-Aboagye, known as Chef Abbys, has made a bold move that is getting people talking across Ghana and beyond.

On May 30, 2026, Chef Abbys went on X and sent a direct message to President John Dramani Mahama. She told the President that she would be deeply honoured to cook with him someday. But this is not just about cooking. Chef Abbys said she wants to sit with the President over a meal and talk about how Ghana can show its food and culture to the whole world.

She wrote: “Sir JDMahama, I would be deeply honoured to cook with you someday. Over a meal, I’d love for us to explore the future of Ghanaian food, culture and how we can showcase our cuisine to the world. Thank you.”

Many people respect Chef Abbys because she has worked very hard to put Ghanaian food on the world map. She was once an engineer but she left that big job to follow her love for food. Today she runs Chef Abbys’ School of Food, known as CASOF, and she has taken Ghanaian food to places many people only dream about.

She went to the United Kingdom and held cooking masterclasses that impressed many people. She even did a full menu takeover at the Snapchat UK headquarters, where she cooked Ghanaian dishes like jollof rice and fried yam for more than 300 workers there.

Chef Abbys has also toured Ghana to teach people about their own food and culture. She shares her cooking videos online and thousands of people follow and support her work every day.

Now she is setting her eyes higher. She wants the President of Ghana himself to join her in the kitchen so together they can plan how to make Ghanaian food famous everywhere in the world.

Whether President Mahama will answer her call remains to be seen. But one thing is clear — Chef Abbys is not stopping anytime soon.
