Ghana and South Korea have signed a landmark Visa Waiver Agreement for holders of Diplomatic and Service Passports, marking a major step in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. The agreement was signed by Ghanaโs Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and South Koreaโs Foreign Minister, Cho Hyun, on the sidelines of the ongoing Africa-Korea Foreign Ministers Meeting.
The deal is the first visa waiver agreement between Ghana and South Korea in nearly 50 years of formal diplomatic relations. Discussions are expected to continue to extend the arrangement to holders of Ordinary Passports in the future.
The agreement follows the working visit of John Dramani Mahama to South Korea earlier this year and is seen as a key achievement in efforts to deepen cooperation, enhance diplomatic exchanges, and strengthen ties between the two nations.
