KPop Demon Hunters merchandise is growing rapidly, and Lego is joining the lineup with its first set inspired by the hit Netflix animated film. The new Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird build arrived less than a year after the movie’s debut, and was one of the fastest turnarounds for a licensed Lego project. According to the company’s designers, the team moved from concept to finished model in record time because they immediately knew how they wanted to capture the fan-favorite duo.

The 825-piece Lego set lets fans build and display the beloved magical animals with poseable features and movie-inspired details.

Senior Design Master Wes Talbott told Lego he was eager to work on the project after watching the film multiple times. The team quickly settled on the characters’ overall look before refining their expressions, poses and proportions. Special attention went into recreating Derpy’s distinctive eyes, with designers testing multiple versions before landing on the final design. The result is a display model that also incorporates interactive features inspired by memorable moments from the movie.

Derpy includes two facial expressions while Sussie has a rotating neck and adjustable feet. Accessories include two love notes and a flower pot — a nod to the notes passed between Rumi and Jinu in the film and a clumsy Derpy knocking over a planter. There is also a hidden storage compartment inside Derpy’s head. This official KPop Demon Hunters Lego set is designed for builders aged nine and up.

The success of KPop Demon Hunters doesn’t stop at a growing lineup of merch and toys. In May, Netflix announced a KPop Demon Hunters global concert tour, with dates, tickets and locations set to be announced later this year.
