In a world where the passion for communal service is gradually diminishing, the Kofi A. Tawiah Foundation has announced the launch of the highly anticipated second edition of the Kofi A. Tawiah Good Citizenship Challenge.
Building on the impressive success of its maiden edition, the Foundation has launched the second edition of the nationwide contest, aimed at creating a more significant impact.

Objective:

The Kofi A. Tawiah Good Citizenship Challenge seeks to develop essential character traits in young people through service learning while promoting good citizenship.
A grand prize of GHC15,000 is up for grabs, while the second and third-placed teams are also set to receive GH¢10,000 and GH¢5,000 respectively. This contest offers an exciting opportunity for students across Ghana to learn, serve, and positively impact their communities.
The challenge requires students to undertake a project, discuss the positive impacts that resulted from the initiative and explain how this has helped shape their character and commitment to making meaningful contributions to society.

Participation:

The challenge is open to all schools in Ghana, from the Basic to the Senior High School level.
Students interested in participating in this challenge would need to leverage the power of collaboration to form a team of at least 5 students with staff supervision. The teams should identify problem(s) in their communities, brainstorm solutions and undertake actions to resolve them.

Submission:

Once the project is completed, the team must write and submit a detailed description of their project, its objectives, impact and how it has contributed to their character development.

They should submit the final essay detailing the community service project they embarked on along with supplementary documents (such as pictures and videos) via email to: goodcitizenshipchallenge@ktawiahfoundation.org or by post to P.O. Box 3837 Cantonments – Accra.

Deadlines:

All schools interested in participating should note that the deadline for expression of interest (submission of team members, school and a brief of the intended project) is 24th April, 2025.

The final essay submission deadline is 16th July, 2025.
The Kofi A. Tawiah Good Citizenship Challenge is not just a competition; it is an opportunity to make a lasting difference in our communities. It is also a call to action for students to become exemplary citizens. We firmly believe that engaging in community service will help students and young people to appreciate the values of compassion, leadership, and the responsibility they owe to their fellow citizens.
The Kofi A. Tawiah Good Citizenship Challenge awaits your initiative, your passion and your commitment to making a difference.
Express your interest today! Let the challenge begin!!
