EU court annuls rejection of bid for EU's von der Leyen vaccine messages with Pfizer

BRUSSELS (Reuters) -Europe's second-top tribunal connected Wednesday dismissed the European Commission's rejection of a New York Times' petition to entree substance messages betwixt its President Ursula von der Leyen and Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla connected the acquisition of billions of euros of COVID-19 vaccines.

The New York Times said the messages betwixt Jan. 1, 2021 and May 11, 2022 astatine the tallness of the pandemic could shed airy connected the billion-euro vaccine deals.

The Commission had turned down its request, saying von der Leyen had not kept the messages. That prompted the newspaper's suit against the EU executive.

The lawsuit is T-36/23 - Stevi and The New York Times v Commission.
