Broadway Box Office: ‘Cats: The Jellicle Ball,’ ‘Ragtime’ See Highest Grossing Weeks

The two musical revivals are approaching the ends of their runs, with 'Ragtime' ending Aug. 16 and 'Cats' Aug. 8.

Ragtime hit close to $2 million as the best musical revival winner nears the end of its run.

The production brought in $1.89 million, as the fifth highest grossing show of the week and its highest gross yet, with the average ticket price hitting an eye-popping $224. This was the highest average ticket price of the week, besting Hamilton’s average ticket price by $4. The musical is set to end its run Aug. 16.

Cats: The Jellicle Ball also hits its highest gross yet, as the musical prepares for its Aug. 8 closing. The revival brought in $1.4 million, as the average ticket price inched up to $148, and capacity remained above 100 percent. The production also announced that the cast will record an album to be released this winter on Atlantic Records, after public demand following the early closure of the show.

Hamilton was the highest grossing show of the week with $2.4 million, followed by Death of a Salesman with $2.2 million, The Lion King with $2.16 million, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child with $1.898 million.

Among the new musicals, The Lost Boys continues to have steam, with the show bringing in $1.5 million last week, and playing to 97 percent capacity. Schimgadoon! dipped slightly from the prior week but the show still brought in $1.1 million, and played to 98 percent capacity.
