Ayo Edebiri is returning to the stage next winter in the Off-Broadway presentation of You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, with David Hyde Pierce taking on the titular role.

Edebiri will play Snoopy, alongside Danielle Brooks as Lucy and Jin Ha, who recently appeared in Proof on Broadway alongside Edebiri, as Linus. Sam Pinkleton, a Tony Award winner for Oh, Mary!, directs the musical, which is slated to run Feb. 3 through Feb. 14 at New York City Center.

This kicks off the Encores! 2027 season, which has a mission of reviving overlooked musicals, and typically features semi-staged productions that feature some choreography but are not full-fledged productions.

Pierce, known for his role on Frasier, is a veteran of the stage, having appeared in Pirates! The Penzance Musical; Hello, Dolly!; and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, as well as Curtains, for which he won a Tony Award for best leading actor in a musical.

Edebiri comes back to the stage after making her Broadway debut in Proof this spring, and starring in The Bear, which just released its final season.

Brooks, known for her role as Taystee in Orange is the New Black, earned a Tony nomination for her role as Sofia in the 2015 revival of the Color Purple. She returns to stage after appearing in the 2022 production of The Piano Lesson

In addition to proof, Han has appeared on stage in Hamilton, Here We Are, M. Butterfly, and has a leading role in Pachinko

The musical features  music, lyrics and a book by Clark Gesner. The revival features choreography by Sunny Min-Sook Hitt and music direction by Meghann Zervoulis Bate.
