Four to five times in an hour is not a typical rate at all for urination and means your body is trying to tell you something. Healthy individuals usually urinate between six to eight times in the 24-hour day period, while yours seems to surpass this range long before lunchtime. However, do not get into a downward spiral of worrying about the worst case scenario yet.

Indeed, diabetes and renal problems should be on your list of possible causes – though, there are more prevalent triggers for frequent urination than these two. An overactive bladder, urinary tract infection, enlarged prostate (for men only), excess consumption of fluids or caffeinated drinks, anxiety, and medications may also lead to such symptom.

Diabetes usually is combined with thirst, tiredness, and fatigue alongside the need to go frequently. In turn, kidney disease is usually associated with swollen ankles or other body parts, fatigue, and abnormalities in the color of urine. Thus, absence of these signs makes it very likely that you are experiencing something much less dramatic.

What you have to do immediately is take a quick and inexpensive urinalysis and check your blood sugar level – both tests require no more than one hour. Do not try to diagnose yourself based on the mentioned symptoms alone.

Another effective step you can take is looking for relevant information in patient forums where people describe their experience with this particular condition – its possible causes, diagnosis, and treatment.
