South Africa Bans 170 Ghanaians for Visa Overstays Amid Repatriation Exercise

South Africa's πΏπ¦ Border Management Authority (BMA) said that of 331 Ghanaian π¬π nationals who arrived for voluntary repatriation, 170 had overstayed their visas by more than 30 days. Many had remained in the country for a year or longer.
The individuals were declared undesirable and were banned from re-entering South Africa.
The action formed part of a wider weekend operation in which 663 Ghanaians were repatriated under Ghanaβs voluntary repatriation programme amid ongoing immigration-related tensions in South Africa.
