In what could have turned into a major tragedy, a VIP bus carrying around 60 passengers was involved in a crash at Apedwa Junction in the Eastern Region—but thanks to a well-placed palm tree, things didn’t get much worse.
According to early reports, the tree acted as an unlikely barrier, preventing the bus from plunging further or rolling over, which could have led to a devastating disaster and possible loss of lives.
Remarkably, all passengers are said to have escaped the incident safely, with no serious injuries reported so far. The palm tree, quite literally, stood in the way of calamity.
